The ‘CAT’ is back in Nova Scotia ahead of its long-awaited reutrn.
The Bay Ferries-run vessel sailed into Yarmouth Harbour last week.
Mark Wilson, vice-president of marine operations, says it will be alongside in Yarmouth until May 4.
He says excitement is building for the return of the Nova Scotia-to-Maine ferry service.
“Our teams are very excited to get back into service so we’re looking forward to a very successful season of delivering the service to Yarmouth and the province of Nova Scotia.”
Wilson discussed where they are at preparing for the start of the season on May 19th.
“We’ve been working very very hard to make sure everything is up to the highest of standards. We’re going to go through a series of training drills and readiness on the vessel to make sure we’re ready to go for the 19th of May.”
The vessel will be certified after the safety systems are tested and the crew will continue at-sea training before the season starts on May 19th.
The ‘CAT’ hasn’t run since 2018, first for upgrades to the Bar Harbour terminal, then for the pandemic.
