Diesel and heating oil prices are ending the month of April at new record highs in New Brunswick.
For the second consecutive night, the Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause Friday night.
The new maximum price for diesel is nearly $2.47 per litre, an increase of more than 16 cents. Most local gas stations are selling it for a few cents less.
Furnace oil prices increased by around the same amount to a new maximum of just over $2.26 per litre.
Diesel prices have changed six times in the last two weeks, going up five times and down once. The interrupter clause was used in four of those instances.
The price of diesel now costs 53 cents per litre more than it did on April 14.
Gasoline and propane prices remained unchanged overnight. The maximum price for regular self-serve is currently set at more than $1.82 per litre.
Outside of its regular price setting, the NBEUB adjusted the maximum settings for Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel Fuel, and Furnace Oil at 12:01 AM. To view the current maximum prices visit: https://t.co/hdVW77bmQ7
