Justin Bieber has released his first rap video and it’s a joke. This isn’t a slam. It’s a fact.
The 28-year-old superstar unexpectedly dropped a music video – that gives some serious Childish Gambino vibes – for a jokey rap track called ‘I Feel Funny’ on Wednesday.
It’s only a minute and a half, but it gives us probably the best glimpse into what it must be like to hang out with the Biebs. It was filmed in between takes for an actual music video for Bieber’s new song, ‘Honest.’
Cole Bennett, director for both vids, explained that it started as a joke. “Justin randomly texted me this song one day and said “should we do a visual to this? song straight to number 1.”
But it wasn’t until they were filming ‘Honest’ and had a bit of time switching over from scene to scene. “…I went into his trailer and said “Remember that song you sent me? Let’s shoot a video for it on my phone in between takes of the actual video.” … The rest was history.”
It’s a really different look for Justin Bieber. Not just because of the orange ski mask, but it feels like he’s having fun, being creative and silly.
