The Fundy FRINGE Festival in uptown Saint John has unveiled this year’s list of performers.
Organizers say there will be eight local artists from New Brunswick — seven from Saint John and one from Sackville.
This year’s lineup also includes five national artists from Ontario and British Columbia and one international artist from Los Angeles.
All 14 of this year’s performers were chosen through a lottery.
“Because this is the FRINGE Festival, we don’t vet or jury any of the acts, they’re simply picked by lottery,” festival director Drew Murdock said in a previous interview.
The 10th edition of the festival will take place from Aug. 21 to 27, with a combination of live and streaming performances, workshops, and after-hours activities.
Murdock said they are planning to have four venues this year with their home base being BMO Studio Theatre on Princess Street.
The Fundy FRINGE Festival is part of a growing community of Fringe Festivals throughout North America, according to its website.
The community is “dedicated to supporting independent performers and artists and creating affordable spaces through which diverse communities can experience boundary-pushing theatre and other performances.”
