The Saint John Police Force will soon release its strategic plan.
Police Chief Robert Bruce said it will outline the police force’s targeted goals.
“What’s robust about the strategic plan is the accountability mechanisms, and what we are trying to accomplish,” Bruce told reporters Monday following a swearing-in ceremony for two new officers.
Bruce also brought up that a physical document will be made available.
“We are pretty proud of that because I think what you’ll see is ours is a little bit different than some others because we have some very targeted goals, which is good for us, and also good for people to hold us accountable to that,” he said.
The strategic plan is set to be released on May 5 during the Saint John Board of Police Commissioners meeting.
Work to develop the new multi-year strategic plan began more than a year ago in early 2021.
At the time, then-chief Stephan Drolet said they hoped to have the plan released in May 2021.
