Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southern regions of the province.
Rain is expected to begin Tuesday morning and become heavy at times throughout the day.
Forecasters are calling for 25 to 50 millimetres before it tapers to showers Tuesday night, with locally higher amounts possible.
Wind gusts of between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour are also expected with this storm system.
Conditions are expected to clear up on Wednesday.
