More communities along the Saint John River are inching closer to flood stage.
The river surpassed flood stage in the village of Gagetown as of Monday morning.
It is the first community to reach flood stage during this year’s spring freshet.
River Watch says the community is expected reach 4.6 metres on Wednesday, 60 centimetres above flood stage.
Fredericton and Jemseg are at flood warning level, meaning they are within half a metre of flood stage.
The latest forecast shows Jemseg surpassing flood stage on Wednesday, where it will remain through Friday.
No other communities are forecast to surpass flood stage over the next five days.
Saint John and Maugerville are among five communities at flood watch levels, or within one metre of flood stage.
