Police in Saint John responded to an assault on Saturday afternoon on the east side.
A 911 caller told police a man was assaulting a woman in a parking lot on Consumers Drive.
Officers found a 24-year-old woman with minor injuries.
A 25-year-old man was arrested for assault and uttering threats.
Police were told two witnesses intervened to help the woman.
One witness spoke with police at the scene while the other left before police could identify him.
Officers want to find out the identity of the unknown witness.
