Volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross are helping nine people displaced by a fire that destroyed an old wood-frame building with five apartments in Woodstock on Friday morning.
Fire crews from Woodstock and Hartland responded to the fire on Cedar Street. They battled the blaze for several hours.
The first reports came in around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning. There were no reports of injuries.
Red Cross volunteers have found somewhere to stay and financial aid for meals, clothing and other basic needs for five of the building’s tenants.
The remaining four tenants are staying with relatives or friends.
There are no reported injuries from the fire.
