A Saint John lawyer has been appointed a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench.
Danys Delaquis, a partner at Canty Lutz Delaquis Grant, hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, originally.
He completed his law degree in Moncton, was called to the bar in 1998, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2020.
Federal Justice Minister and Attorney General David Lametti announced the appointment on Monday.
For over 10 years, Delaquis was the lead instructor for the French section of the Civil Procedure Bar Admission Course.
Justice Delaquis replaces Justice B. Noble in Fredericton, who resigned last September. Due to internal court transfers, the vacancy is located in Saint John.
