Federal correctional officers from across Atlantic Canada will hold a demonstration, upset over a toxic work environment.
They’ll march in front of the Administrative offices of Correctional Service Canada in downtown Moncton late this morning.
Officers say they have been protesting the lack of respect and culture of harassment since February.
The peaceful protest consists of responding to the lack of respect with an equivalent lack of respect for the institution by covering their uniform patch with black tape.
The Union of Canadian Correctional Officers represents over 7,400 members in the five major regions of Canada in 49 federal institutions.
