After two years of COVID-19 restrictions, Narrative Research polled Canadians to find out how they feel about the easing of restrictions.
The poll of 1233 Canadians over the age of 18 conducted last week found 67 per cent of Canadians support easing the restrictions, while 27 per cent were opposed.
Forty-five per cent believe the pace to loosen restrictions was just right.
Thirty-two per cent said it was too fast, while the others perceived it to be too slow.
The poll found men, those employed full-time, with some level of college education, and those from Quebec are most likely to support the easing of restrictions.
By contrast, women, those unemployed, and residents with lower education levels, are most likely to oppose the idea.
Looking at the provinces independently, Ontario and Atlantic Canada had the highest percentage in the country of those polled who felt restrictions were lifted too fast at 38 and 35 per cent.
The questions included in this press release were the following:
- Recently, provinces across Canada have been easing COVID-19 restrictions. All things considered, do support or oppose the easing of restrictions in your province?
- And do you believe that the pace of easing restrictions has been too slow, about the right pace or too fast?
