Environment Canada is warning about the potential for localized flooding in low-lying areas over the weekend.
The weather agency has issued a rainfall warning for Saint John, Grand Manan, and coastal Charlotte County.
A mix of snow and rain is expected to change to rain at times heavy Saturday evening before tapering to showers on Sunday morning.
Forecasters say between 25 and 40 millimetres of rain is expected in areas under the rainfall warning.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” said the warning from Environment Canada.
Areas further inland, including the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex and St. Stephen, can expect around 10 to 20 millimetres of rain by Sunday morning.
