One of Canada’s leading communications companies announced a nearly $200-million upgrade to its network in New Brunswick on Tuesday.
Rogers says the investment will bring 100 per cent pure fibre optic internet to up to 314,000 homes and businesses in the province.
Matt MacLellan, Atlantic region president for Rogers Communications, said they are excited to give residents and business owners access to the “network of the future.”
“It is important that we continue to invest in our communities to ensure that customers have access to faster and more reliable service than ever, especially as technology continues to evolve and the world becomes more connected,” MacLellan said in a news release.
According to the company, pure fibre delivers a “faster, richer, and more responsive online experience” that will support even more devices and services.
Residents and businesses in Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe and Shediac will be the first to get the upgraded service in the coming months.
Company officials did not say how long it will take to complete the upgrades.
