Job Description
Ocean Capital has a new and unique opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist, who will support specific HR initiatives across the group of Companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities with businesses, as well as be assigned to support special projects and tasks as required. This role will provide valued direction, service, support and advice to managers and employees, liaise with company leaders to determine their needs, support HR systems, as well as be proactive in promoting human resources best practices, policies and procedures. The individual will be part of a team of HR experts within Ocean Capital, however this role will also work closely with key businesses specific to their HR operational needs. Other responsibilities will include:
Strategic People Initiatives: Be part of the HR team who will be key in preparing the organization for the future – participating in the implementation of strategic people initiatives including succession planning, talent management and leadership development.
Supporting the Business with Analytics: Partner with the business to provide key people measures and analytics to support the better decision making.
Recruitment: Manage a unique Candidate experience in the recruitment process for select positions while building a pipeline for talent.
Onboarding: Create an exceptional employee experience by preparing and executing an onboarding and orientation to the company in partnership with the business.
Employee Relations: Work with managers and employees on day to day circumstances that require HR leadership.
Learning Management System: Work with businesses to establish training plans and complete required annual documentation for compliance.
Annual Calendar of Commitments: Including employee surveys, development planners, performance reviews, benefit renewals, service awards, compensation reviews, and quarterly employee meetings.

The successful candidate will have the right blend of education and experience, which may include an undergraduate degree, 5+ years’ experience in a Human Resources, and an CPHR designation.
