New Brunswick Public Health reported 87 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
There are 29 new cases in the Saint John area, 19 in the Moncton health zone, 20 in the Fredericton region, two in the Bathurst area, 17 in the Miramichi health zone.
After 60 recoveries, active cases now stand at 692 across the province. That includes 143 cases in the Saint John region, and 268 in the Moncton area.
Forty-five people are being treated in hospital, 19 require an intensive care unit.
Officials said 11 contracted the virus while hospitalized for other reasons due to the ongoing outbreaks in certain units at The Moncton Hospital.
Public Health says 87.6 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 93.5 per cent have received their first dose of a vaccine.
Meanwhile, beginning Friday, children in New Brunswick aged five to 11 will start receiving their first dose of a vaccine.
The province confirms more than 6,200 appointments have been booked so far.
