New Brunswick RCMP is continuing to investigate a report of shots fired in the Centennial Park area of Moncton.
Around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Codiac RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle struck by bullets near Millennium Boulevard and Killam Drive.
The shots appeared to come from the woods in nearby Centennial Park.
There were no reports of injuries.
Access to the park was closed and an Alert Ready message was issued as police conducted an exhaustive search of the park and surrounding area.
Police continue their search for evidence.
An updated Alert Ready message was issued at 6:05 p.m.
“Police did not find any evidence that warranted keeping the area contained at this time. No arrests have been made. People can return to their regular activities,” says Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP.
“This is still very much an active investigation. If you have any information that could assist investigators, please contact police right away.”
Codiac RCMP is particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have video footage from the area of Millennium Boulevard and Killam Drive between 8 and 9 a.m. on May 13 and should call 506-857-2400.
