Gary Sullivan is hoping to retain his councillor-at-large seat in the upcoming municipal election.
Sullivan is re-offering for the council position, which he was first elected to in 2016.
“I will not make commitments that I don’t believe will move the city forward,” Sullivan said in his announcement. “I hope you see that when I do make commitments, I work to make them happen.”
Sullivan pointed to several topics he spoke about during the 2016 election campaign, including an improved economic development agency and the importance of development in the city.
“Proper development in the proper place is so important for long term growth of Saint John,” he said. “We now have multiple big cranes in the air uptown and loads of development underway.”
Municipal elections take place on May 10.
