We are now getting a better idea of just how much damage was caused during heavy rain in early December.
The province says a total of 269 New Brunswickers registered flood damage by the deadline on Jan. 15.
Figures show just over 200 of those applications came from Sussex and Sussex Corner, which were hit hardest by the storm.
It is estimated more than 200 millimetres of rain fell between in parts of the province between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2.
Those who registered damage now have until March 31 to apply for the Disaster Financial Assistance Program through the province.
Private residences are able to claim up to $160,000 for structural repairs, while small businesses and not-for-profits may be eligible for up to $500,000.
New Brunswick EMO is opening an office in the Sussex area to help people with those applications.
