For the sixth day in a row, New Brunswick had no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Chief medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell, says some restrictions have been loosened but it’s important to remember when we move around, the virus can move with us.
“That’s why it is so important that everyone continue to maintain two metres of physical distancing between themselves and others when you are away from home. And when physical distancing isn’t possible, you should wear a community face mask that covers your mouth and your nose,” she said.
Russell says we won’t know the impact of the first weekend of loosening restrictions for a few days since the virus has an incubation period of up to two weeks.
The province still has two active cases of COVID-19 and 118 individuals have recovered.
As of Tuesday, 18,379 tests have been conducted.
New Brunswick is currently in Phase 2 (Orange) of the COVID-19 recovery, which is aimed at the reopening of businesses and activities while working to prevent a resurgence of transmission.
