New Brunswick’s premier is urging residents and businesses to continue following Public Health directives.
As New Brunswick continues to see fewer COVID-19 cases, the province has begun to lift some restrictions.
“New Brunswickers can once again participate in outdoor activities like golfing, fishing and going to parks. You can even attend outdoor religious services as long as you stay in your car and the cars are spaced by two metres,” said Premier Blaine Higgs.
Higgs said those businesses must ensure they are taking proper health and safety measures.
People should wear a mask if they are not able to maintain two metres of space from others, he said.
“We all have to do our part to protect others and we must continue to be cautious. If we re-open too quickly, we are at risk of a second wave of the virus having a serious impact,” said Higgs.
On Friday, the province also introduced what it called “two-household bubbles,” meaning people in one household can now spend time with people in one other household. But both households must agree and cannot change their selection.
“We have come so far together. Please continue to follow the directives of Public Health and the emergency order as we take these steps so that soon we will be able to take the next steps forward,” said Higgs.
