Canada’s chief public health officer says to keep up with physical distancing and staying home as much as possible.
In a written statement, Dr. Theresa Tam says those efforts are starting to pay off with what she calls “encouraging results.”
Labs have completed tests for more than 691,000 people, and approximately 7% of those tests are confirmed as positive.
As of this morning, the Public Health Agency of Canada reports there are 45,791 cases nationwide, and 2,489 deaths.
“The road is still long, but what we continue to do today will benefit us tomorrow,” adds Dr. Tam. “Let’s continue to support each other get through these challenging times-helping others and kindness matter. It is needed to sustain our spirits and shared humanity through this difficult time.”
