The death toll from the COVID-19 virus in Canada has surpassed 100.
Twelve new deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the total to 101.
Six of the new deaths were in Quebec, five were in British Columbia and one was in Alberta.
The total number of cases jumped to nearly 8,600, with surges of new cases in Quebec and Ontario.
More than 1,000 cases are reported to be resolved across Canada.
South of the border, the United States is reporting more than 163,000 cases and more than 2,800 deaths.
