The Conservative party leadership race is being put on hold.
A meeting was held by the Leadership Election Organizing Committee last night to decide whether or not they could continue the process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Committee decided that with non-essential businesses closed, they wouldn’t be able to meet necessary deadlines, including processing and counting ballots in time for a June 27th announcement.
Debates scheduled in April and the leadership event on June 27th have been cancelled.
They will meet again on May 1st to re-evaluate.
Important update from the Leadership Election Organizing Committee.
