A Riverview man is sharing his love for music on social media in the hopes of boosting spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andrew Leblanc says in an effort to make things fun, he has incorporated the use his daughters toy instruments in his posts, “I started to figure out on the toy guitar, some songs that our band does. I thought this would be fun. There is a lot of stress and a lot of anxiety around what is happening and I thought it would be nice to share something fun on Facebook and social media.”
It started with a toy guitar, but has moved to a toy piano, and even a pink saxophone.
“So far, it has been really fun. I have some friends now who are musicians and they are starting to post some videos too. We are just encouraging everybody to find something positive to share and keep people’s spirits up right now. It is a tough time for everybody,” Leblanc says.
As the Executive Director for the Atlantic Wellness Centre, Leblanc has seen firsthand, how difficult it has been for some people to cope.
Leblanc says he has always found great comfort in music and it helps to keep his stress levels down.
“It was just a natural thing for me to do. I am here working at home, and I thought I might as well just play. If it brings my stress level down, I just thought it might help bring the stress level of others down too,” Leblanc says.
Last week, he did a special video with his daughter. It was a duet with the two of them on guitar.
Leblanc says, if you have a song you’d like to see featured, he’d be happy to take requests.
His daily videos can be found on Facebook.
