The Canadian government continues to update the nation on the steps they are taking during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Minister Patty Hajdu told media Wednesday that they recently approved two new diagnostic tests for the illness.
“We’ve been working around the clock with provinces and territories to make sure everyone has what they need to continue to detect and interrupt the chain of transmission. Provinces and territories have been ramping up the capacity to do so in innovative ways, I want to thank them for how quickly they are moving,” Hajdu said.
The new tests will help provincial labs test even more quickly.
Hajdu shared how she is blown away by the Canadian public’s action in trying to stop the spread of the illness by washing their hands more regularly and practicing social-distancing by working from home and postponing social events.
