The YMCA of Greater Saint John offers a range of programs and services, such as Child Care, Health and Fitness programs, Newcomer Programs, and other outreach services. Our charity is responding to COVID-19 across all of our programs. In an effort to maintain the safety of our staff and members, while trying to cause the least amount of disruption, the following will take effect Monday, March 16:

Membership:

  • All programs including youth & adult programs, group fitness classes, family & youth swims and swim lessons will be postponed for 14 days starting Monday March 16th until and including Sunday March 29th. We are encouraging everyone to practice social distancing as recommended by the New Brunswick Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jennifer Russell.
  • The Irving Oil Field House and Saint John Regional Y fitness facilities will remain open to our members. The Irving Oil Field House membership hours will change to 7:00 am – 7:00 pm for the next 14 days.
  • The Rothesay Hive is closed until further notice.

Child Care Program:

  • As per the directive of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, our licensed Child Care and After School programs will remain open to continue providing essential child care services to our families and community. YMCA Child Care remains open at ALL locations, with the exception of the Pre-K program at Hazen White and Early Learning Centre and all Playgroups.

After School Program:

  • The YMCA is offering full time care for children registered in our After School program at all locations except at the following locations: Loch Lomond School, Rothesay Elementary, Lakewood Heights, and Prince Charles however parents will be accommodated at other Y locations.
  • We appreciate your patience during this time, we do expect delays in billing.

Newcomer Connections

  • The Department of Education has closed public schools in New Brunswick until March 30, 2020, therefore all LINC classes, Canada School, I&Os and Employment Programs will be cancelled during this time as well.
  • Newcomer Connections staff remain available for client support services.
