Lowering transit costs and improving service for families was the focus for the NDP today.
Speaking in British Columbia on the ferry between Victoria and Vancouver, party leader Jagmeet Singh says he would help make ferries more affordable for the families who rely on them.
“So we’re announcing a $30-million investment to boost investments into the current existing agreement with B.C. and the ferries. We know this will help with more service and lower cost, this is exactly what families need and we want to make sure that we’re there for them.”
In Edmonton, Andrew Scheer says he will support the economy and streamline energy projects with what he calls a national energy corridor from coast to coast.
The Conservative Leader says the proposed project will transport resources like oil, telecommunications, and electricity.
“A national energy corridor will provide Qubec with opportunities to export its hydro-electricity to new markets. It will provide rural communities with opportunities to connect to vital telecommunication infrastructure. It will provide opportunities for Indigenous communities along the route.”
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is taking a break from the campaign trail.
Leader of the Greens Elizabeth May is campaigning in British Columbia, and later will hold a town hall.
