A prisoner at the Atlantic Institution in Renous has been charged in the death of a fellow inmate earlier this year.
Police say an inmate was found badly injured in his cell on February 18 and was pronounced dead at the infirmary.
Mounties have identified him as 27-year-old Calvin Clifford Kenny, who was originally from Newfoundland and Labrador.
Police say Brandon Blake Colford, originally from Blackville, was charged with second-degree murder on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old man remains incarcerated and will appear in court at a later date.
