Saint John fire officials are investigating the cause of an Easter Sunday blaze in Champlain Heights.
Platoon chief Brian Wilson said they were called to Champlain Drive around 9:20 a.m. Sunday.
Wilson said crews found smoke coming from the one-storey bungalow when they arrived at the scene.
“There was significant fire inside the front entrance, which was quickly knocked down and controlled by the first arriving truck,” said Wilson.
Solid work by Platoon 4 this morning tackling a working fire in East Saint John. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a single story bungalow and went straight to work making entry and attacking the fire. But Wilson said it took crews some time to clear all of the smoke from the home.
Saint John police say the home was vacant and the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
