New Brunswick’s agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries minister is leading a delegation to Boston this week.
More than 100 companies from the province are taking part in the 2019 Seafood Expo North America from March 17 to 19.
It is a chance for them to reinforce relationships with existing customers, to generate new customer leads, and to secure sales for 2019.
Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Ross Wetmore says New Brunswick wants to grow its seafood exports, and these few days every year in Boston help to achieve that goal.
“Since becoming minister, I have been struck by the strong desire of New Brunswick producers to put the best-quality seafood on the tables of customers around the world,” said Wetmore in a news release.
The expo attracts more than 19,000 buyers and suppliers of fresh, frozen, packaged and value-added seafood products, equipment and services from more than 100 countries.
New Brunswick’s seafood exports remained relatively stable in 2018 at $1.7 billion, with notable growth in the value of lobster and salmon sales.
