A New Brunswick MP says he will not re-offer in the next federal election slated to take place in October.
T.J. Harvey, who represents the riding of Tobique-Mactaquac, made the announcement in a post on Facebook this week.
Harvey said he wants to return to the private sector, although he has not decided exactly what he will do.
“Serving as the Member of Parliament for Tobique-Mactaquac has been so much more than a job,” wrote Harvey.
“It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to provide a strong, independent, New Brunswick voice on behalf of my constituents.”

Harvey was first elected in 2015 with nearly 47 per cent of the votes, defeating Conservative candidate Richard Bragdon by 3,600 votes.
