Residents in Welsford have a lot to celebrate these days after the reopening of their outdoor rink.
The community fixture was operated by the Welsford Community Association until about 18 years ago.
Micah Williamson, current president of the association, says that is when a generational change happened.
“The previous committee handed over the reins to a new committee and things just kind of fizzled out,” said Williamson.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that the rink is open for business!!Thanks to everyone who made this…

Williamson said there has been renewed interest in the last year or so after the property went up for tax sale.
He said the Welsford Volunteer Fire Department raised money to pay off the property tax bill and pumped the rink with 17,000 gallons of water.
“The Circle K has had a change jar to collect money to pay for some of our expenses, we had a bottle drive and raised over $1,000,” Williamson said.
The rink will be home to the second annual Welsford Winterfest on Family Day.
