There is no clear indication when a working group will report back to Saint John council with proposed solutions to the city’s long-term financial problems.
The group, which is made up of municipal and provincial officials, was expected to present its report in January.
But nearly two weeks into February, it remains unclear when that will happen.
Lisa Caissie, a spokesperson for the city, said the report is still a “work in progress” and there are no timelines right now.
Caissie said more details about the report will be released once the draft is complete.
Patrick Beamish, the mayor’s strategic advisor, said the group is still working out details and he anticipates the report will be delivered In the next month or so.
The working group is part of the $22.8-million aid package announced by the former Brian Gallant government nearly a year ago to help the city address its structural deficit.
