A grease fire caused some damage to a restaurant in east Saint John on Wednesday evening.
Brian Wilson, platoon chief with the Saint John Fire Department, said they were called to Burger King on Rothesay Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
Wilson said the first firefighters on the scene saw flames coming from a roof vent, as well as smoke and fire around a range hood unit inside.
He said everyone was out of the building by the time they arrived and fire crews knocked down the flames within minutes.
Wilson said most of the damage was confined to the ducting system and roof vent, but there was a bit of water damage inside.
He said the restaurant will remain closed until further notice — likely a day or two.
