There has been another explosion at the American Iron & Metal recycling facility in west Saint John.
It happened on Thursday — just over a month after the Department of Environment shut down the facility following a series of explosions.
Operations resumed on Dec. 5 after the company came up with a plan to address explosions and excessive noise.
It requires AIM to shut down after an explosion and report it to the environment department and fire officials, who will decide when it is safe for operations to resume.
Anthony Doiron, a spokesperson for the Department of Environment, said in an email Thursday’s explosion was reported to be below the decibel level which would required them to shut down.
