It has been around a month since it was revealed that Jeff Alpaugh made a deal on the Dragon’s Den for his Fredericton business.
The Co-Founder of Jeff Alpaugh Custom, that makes the most dangerous dress shirt, says it has been somewhat overwhelming because of the exposure they received.
He says business has certainly picked up, “There is a lot more demand for the product, which is obviously amazing. Sometimes people can’t get an appointment for two to three months. We are booked up.”
Alpaugh says it was evident that news of the buisness has spread after his friend told him a story after his visit to the United States, “He said he was in Washington and he was at the Canadian Ambassador’s House. He was talking to a big wig from somewhere in America, who asked where he was from. When he told him he was from Fredericton, New Brunswick, the man responded, that he had visited Fredericton once, even though he had never heard of it. and it was there he got five of the most dangerous dress shirts.”
The Dragon’s Den deal was made with Mike Wekerle and Michele Romanow. Alpaugh gave up a 30 per cent share in the company for $100, 000.
That deal also included 50, 000 dollars worth of shirts for the El Macambo, which is a well known club in Toronto, Ontario.
