Building a backyard campfire is a great way to bring your family and friends together on a warm evening but before you do so make sure you’re following these safety tips provided by the Kennebecasis Valley fire department.
Platoon Chief Kevin Clynick says you should only burn wood as the fuel and that wood should be untreated, don’t use brush or any construction waste, and don’t use any type of flammable liquids like gas or lighter fluid.
He also says you should only have one fire going at a time.
