The fate of both Norton and Browns Flat Elementary Schools to be decided at a public meeting held at the Saint John Education Centre April 29th.
The schools are the subject of a sustainability study conducted by the Anglophone South District Education Council.
Rob Fowler Chair of the Anglophone South District Education Council says despite what people think, the goal of the Council is not to pick on rural schools.
Hundreds of community members gathered at Norton Elementary to prove why their school should remain open.
If the school does close, 30 percent of the students would be spread between Belleisle and Hampton and 70 percent would attend Apohaqui Elementary.
