It’s time to celebrate the newly restored Mispec beach and park.
Back in 2011, weather caused significant damage to the shoreline and staircases.
Work on the site cost about $270,000 some of which will be reimbursed by the Department of Public Safety through the Disaster Financial Assistance Program.
Councillor at Large Shirley McAlary tells CHSJ News it’s a partnership between the City and Canaport LNG.
She says they have fixed the wall going to the shore, replaced the old asphalt with gravel and demolished the canteen and a storage shed.
The event begins on Saturday at 11:30am and the rain date is Sunday.
