What Will The Upcoming Winter Look Like In NB?

After a summerlike start to fall, the weather has turned decidedly cooler which might have some wondering what lies ahead this winter for New Brunswick.

Weather Network meteorologist Michael Carter says it's still early but a sneak preview of winter has been released.

"Right now we are looking at near normal temperature conditions for most of Atlantic Canada.  Any signs of extreme cold will be located in Central Canada - northwestern Ontario and the southern Prairies," he notes.

Carter says warmer than normal winters can produce more snow, rain or even ice and he adds higher amounts of precipitation are a real possibility for the upcoming winter.

Carter adds nothing is written in stone yet and the winter forecast will continue to be refined and updated as we get closer to the season.
