The Sea Dogs Celebrate The Season And Look to the Playoffs

The Saint John Sea Dogs celebrating their players and a great season while looking ahead to the playoffs which start on Friday night againt Rimouski.

Thomas Chabot picked up two awards--Top Defenseman and Fan's Choice.   

The 20 year old tells us he was a bit surprised to win given that he only played 30 games this year but he is honored.     Chabot says having the World Juniors experience just made the Sea Dogs season even more exciting.

Team Captain Spencer Smallman says they had a great year but they have two more goals to win the President's Cup and the Memorial Cup.

He says it's easier to be a relied upon member of the team when you have such a skilled group of guys with you.

Aa for Rimouski, Smallman says they are a good team so they have to be ready for them.

Smallman won the Community Service Award.

21 year old Matthew Highmore picked up two awards- Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer.

He says the season ended well but they have a lot of unfinished business.    He says every series in the Q is tough and they look forward to the challenge on Friday night at Harbour Station.

Team player went to Cole Reginato, the Academic award went to goalie Callum Booth who thanked the city of Saint John and the team for welcoming him when he joined the team in December.
