Comedy lovers from across New Brunswick will flock to Moncton to enjoy a laugh or two.
That’s when many of the big acts in this year’s HubCap comedy festival will hit the stage.
Spokesperson Marshall Button says this is the 19th year for the show.
“I think it was no accident that we picked the middle of February for a comedy festival. I think everyone is a little ready for relief from snow, and ice pellets. I think we’ve had enough of that, “ Button says.
Laughter can certainly be the best medicine for the winter blues.
“When the Festival started so many years ago, it was fairly modest. We really adopted that idea of not just being in the big halls and big theatres, but getting out the small venues. From there, the Festival has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger. When it began, it was a bit of a struggle to fill all of the rosters. Now we have hundreds vying to get into the Festival each year. The one bottom line is that they have to be funny,” Button says.
