Blue is the new color of Charlotte County.
In the riding of St. Croix, Progressive Conservative Greg Thompson defeated Liberal incumbent John Ames with 813 votes.
We asked Thompson what it feels like to win this election, “It’s nice to have it over, it’s always nice to win. It was fairly hard fought. I’ve got a whole team down here now that worked pretty well around the clock helping me. It’s a team effort.”

We asked the new MLA what he’ll be doing in the morning.
“Well, I’m going to try (laughs) and catch up on my sleep. But I’ll be up and running by, say 10, 10:30am or so. I gotta pile some wood, I gotta split some wood. I’m gonna be a busy man, and then on top of that of course, guess I’ll be getting a call from Fredericton.”
Elsewhere in Charlotte County, in Fundy-The Isles-Saint John West, The PC’s Andrea Anderson-Mason has also been elected. She defeated long time Liberal incumbent Rick Doucet by 1386 votes.
