The New Brunswick Law Society has issued a public notice announcing a former provincial deputy attorney-general has been disbarred.
Among the accusations levelled against Yassin Choukri were that he stole more than $740 thousand from 10 of his clients, abandoned his clients and withdrew client funds from his trust account, thereby violating a court order.
Choukri did not appear at hearings before the Law Society’s Discipline Committee in October and the beginning of this month. Because he didn’t show up, the Law Society ruled Choukri was admitting guilt.
