Darren Roach of Riverside came from behind to win the New Brunswick Men's Amateur Golf Championship by 4 shots.

In the Majors, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees split a day-night doubleheader with the Red Sox winning last night 3-0 behind David Price who struck out 8 over 8 innings and a two run homer by Mookie Betts.....Jackie Bradley Junior robbed Aaron Judge of a homer with a magnificent catch. Earlier, the Yankees shut out the Red Sox 3-0 behind the pitching of C-C Sabathia who allowed just two hits over 6 innings.....The Toronto Blue Jays lost in 11 innings to Detroit 6-5 on a bases loaded walk.

In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers won their 9th straight, 3-2 over Miami. The Dodgers have won 29 of their last 33 games. Five Dodger pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts......Jose Quintana struck out a season high 12 over seven innings as the Chicago Cubs blanked Baltimore Orioles 8-0 for a three game sweep. The Washington Nationals traded for some much needed help in the bullpen by acquiring relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson from the Oakland A's.

In New Brunswick Senior Baseball over the weekend, the Saint John Alpines split two in Chatham, losing 4-0 and then winning 10-6.

In junior play, the Saint John Junior Alpines split two, defeating Chatham 9-3 after earlier losing 4-3.
