2017 proved to be a strong year for tourism in New Brunswick with a higher number of visitors but will history repeat itself in 2018?
Tourism Industry Association president and CEO Ron Drisdelle believes this could be another banner season.
He cites a campaign which is encouraging Chinese residents to visit Canada this year.
“We all know that the federal government and the provincial government have been working really hard to promote and encourage Chinese visitors to Canada and New Brunswick,” he says.
Drisdelle says the low value of the loonie will also work in our favour to help lure more Americans and he’s also encouraged by a greater investment in tourism from the provincial government.
Given that gas prices are climbing, he adds more New Brunswickers may choose a staycation this summer.
