After going around the province and listening to New Brunswickers, Premier Brian Gallant claims that residents are most concerned about the economy, education and health care.
Speaking to the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce today, Gallant says balancing the books continues to be a priority too but he unveiled something troublesome.
"We actually spend more on paying the interest on our debt - and to be clear, we are not paying down the debt, we are paying the interest on our debt - and that costs us more every single year than we are able to invest in universities, colleges and student financial aid combined," he notes.
But Gallant says balancing the books by 2020 is still on target.
Since the Liberals took power in 2014, Gallant said the provincial small business tax has been cut by 33 percent.
However, he made no mention and has not taken a position on the proposed federal tax changes for small business owners which have caused controversy.
