PC Leader Blaine Higgs says the shale gas issue is not dead in this province, in fact he expects it to be an election issue once again.

Despite the moratorium on the industry, Higgs says a PC government would listen to any region that wants it, such as Sussex or Albert County where the industry has been taking place for several years with no problems.

Higgs says the Sable Island gas fields and others off Nova Scotia are depleting rapidly and are projected to last only until 2022.

Higgs says then we would have to start purchasing natural gas from the United States which would be a shame considering the amount we have in New Brunwck.
