National cannabis surveys are being done every three months in 2018, to see how the use of marijuana is changing in the country.
About 1.4 million Canadians reported that they had been a passenger in a vehicle driven by someone who had consumed cannabis in the previous two hours and one in seven cannabis users reported that they got behind the wheel at least once within two hours of using the drug
Males were nearly two times more likely than females to report this behaviour.
The most recent stats are from the second quarter of the year.
Recreational marijuana is set to be legalized on October 17.
